 ‼️ Fight Against Kush; the Community Approach…Right or Wrong Way? ‼️ By Musa Kamara A new drug that appeared around 5 years ago is wreaking havoc among young people in Sierra Leone. Kush, a mixture of chemicals that mimics cannabis. In Sierra Leone, one of the poorest in the world, you only need five new leones to treat yourself to an hour-long trance unconsciously. Kush strains are usually indica or hybrid strains, which means they may make you feel incredibly relaxed and drowsy. Medicinal marijuana users often choose kush strains for its pain-relieving properties. Some kush strains may also make you feel slightly euphoric and focused.  Streets in Freetown are now laced with standing sleeping youths, walking like zombies. Women In SL Commit to End Fire Wood and Charcoal Burning

Women Leaders in Sierra Leone Discuss Ways to Put an End to Charcoal and Fire Wood Burning By: Musa Kamara Representatives of women’s  organizations, civil society and the private sector gathered at the Country Lodge Hotel in Freetown to confront the issue that is killing women and children - the use of charcoal and firewood when they do simple tasks as cooking meals for their families. They came together because they want cleaner cooking solutions that would keep them healthy while keeping the environment safe for everyone.  Bringing them together for the symposium under the leadership of the Presidential Initiative for Climate Change, Renewable Energy and Food Security, were the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Gender, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and the Ministry of Energy who co-hosted the event.
