By: Musa Kamara

Orange Sierra Leone, leading network and data provider in Sierra Leone, through the Orange Foundation has on Friday, 17th June 2022 completed a one week intensive training on social media for youths in Freetown.

The training, that attracted a good number of youths and students from different schools was geared towards improving the knowledge of young people on the positive use of social media and how they can make income using social media.

"The experience was mind blowing as I get to learn so many things about social media that I never knew about," one of the students said. According to one of the facilitators of the training, he said, they have been able to tap into the minds of young people on the benefits associated with the use of social media. "Social media has a lot of benefits, and that is the reason why Orange Foundation decided to engage students on the positive use of the media that can bring them income," he stated.

Speaking to this medium, Musa Kamara, a beneficiary of the training said, "I have learned a lot on how to use social media in a way that it can bring me income. I have also learned how to create goggle blog. This goggle blog has helped me to be writing and publishing my articles in a more professional way. It has also increased my followers on my social media platform."

According to sources at Orange Foundation, there are plans to continue the training for these students in higher classes.
